Thailand’s Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has issued a ban on five cryptocurrency exchanges – Bybit, 1000X, CoinEx, OKX, and XT – for operating without proper authorization in the country.

The regulator stated the action aims to “protect investors and prevent the use of unregulated digital asset platforms for money laundering activities.”

According to the announcement, Thailand’s Ministry of Digital Economy and Society will implement access restrictions to these platforms effective June 28, 2025.

This enforcement follows the SEC’s April 2023 declaration of intent to block unauthorized crypto trading platforms, made after consultations with the government’s technology crime prevention committee.
