Saylor’s Strategy Bolsters Bitcoin Holdings with $2.13 Billion Purchase
Michael Saylor’s company Strategy has significantly increased its Bitcoin holdings, purchasing approximately $2.13 billion worth of the cryptocurrency over an eight-day period. The buying spree continued even as the firm’s stock price faced pressure from recent market volatility.
According to a regulatory filing, the firm acquired about 22,305 Bitcoin between January 12 and January 19. This aggressive accumulation further solidifies its position as a major corporate holder of the digital asset.
In a post on X, Saylor revealed that Strategy’s total Bitcoin treasury now stands at 709,715 coins as of January 19. The announcement comes during a period of heightened sensitivity for the company’s stock, which fell 6.6% amid a 2.4% decline in Bitcoin’s price.
Strategy financed these latest acquisitions using proceeds from its at-the-market offering program. This move demonstrates the company’s ongoing commitment to converting capital into Bitcoin on a large scale.
