Samson Mow’s BTC Startup Raises $21M and Hits $100M Valuation

JAN3, Samson Mow’s new startup, has recently raised $21 million in seed funding and has hit a $100 million valuation, the former Blockstream chief strategy officer has announced at the Bitcoin 2022 conference, CoinDesk has reported. According to him:

“JAN3 will focus on advancing Bitcoin and second-tier solutions like Liquid and Lightning, which are key to mainstream cryptocurrency adoption and building a circular economy. The company will also support my initiatives to implement Bitcoin at the national level and will make expert contributions to infrastructure development projects.”

Investors in the project include F2Pool co-founder Chun Wang, as well as El Zonte Capital, an investment company founded by Max Kaiser and Stacy Herbert.

JAN3 will operate Blockstream’s AQUA and Green wallets, as well as the NFT marketplace Raretoshi. The startup signed a memorandum of understanding with the government of El Salvador according to which it will become one of the providers of the country’s crypto infrastructure.
