Avalanche Launches Browser Wallet and BTC Blockchain Bridge
Ava Labs has introduced the Core browser wallet for working with Web3 apps based on the Avalanche network. A bridge with the bitcoin blockchain has become part of the application.
According to the press release made public by the company, Core is a non-custodial wallet. The developers position the extension as an “operating system” that unifies all Avalanche-based decentralized applications.
The app offers users a suite of nine core services, including the Avalanche Bridge cross-chain solution. The latter, unlike its web version, allows users to work with Bitcoin, and not just with Ethereum.
The company has said in a statement that BTC is being tokenized into a wrapped BTC.b asset on the Avalanche blockchain, which allows the asset to be used in DeFi ecosystem applications.
