According to the experts of US-based firm SonicWall, the number of attacks using ransomware has significantly decreased against the backdrop of the fall in the price of Bitcoin.

The company researchers have counted 236 million ransomware infection attempts in the first half of the year, which is 23% less compared to the same period last year.

SonicWall has cited the price of Bitcoin as an early indicator of the frequency of ransomware attacks. According to the company experts, the increase in safety standards in companies and the activation of law enforcement agencies in this direction also contributed to the decrease in the indicator.

According to the report, the number of ransomware incidents increased last year. Then the targets of the attackers were large companies like JBS Foods and Colonial Pipeline.
