Mayor Buddy Dyer of Orlando, Florida, has announced the opening of 2,500 jobs related to digital worlds as part of an effort to transform the city into a MetaCenter.

According to ArPost, Orlando has become a leading hub for companies that want to innovate and explore the possibilities of new technologies. This is thanks to the proximity of Cape Canaveral and the founding of the University of Central Florida (UCF), which provides specialists for the space industry.

David Adelson, head of innovation at the Orlando Economic Partnership, has said:

“The collision of creative entertainment and technological advances formed the basis of the ecosystem that exists here today.”

Companies such as Disney, Red 6, and BrandX are interested in the services of local startups, which collaborate with NASA and Microsoft. “The list of our next-gen gaming, entertainment, AI, AR/VR, IoT, and simulation-led learning leaders joining this effort continues to grow,” Adelson has added.
