Crypto Exchange OKX Abandons Canada

Due to “new rules” that are coming into effect, OKX will no longer provide services to Canadian users and prevent the registration of new accounts from March 24, 2023.

All clients must close their positions by June 22 and have their funds withdrawn by the same date. The exchange reassured that all funds in the account will remain safe until then.

They also said that the measure is only temporary and that they are working with regulators to resolve the issue. Earlier this year, OKEx changed their name to OKX to reflect their commitment to the development of the crypto industry and the Web3 ecosystem.

In August, the Ontario Securities Commission fined the exchange operator and announced that they had violated local securities laws.
