By the mid-2023, the total number of employees in the blockchain industry has nearly doubled since 2019, reaching close to 190,000, according to K33 Research.

This was despite crypto companies being forced to lay off part of their staff between 2022-2023 in order to remain operational.

As the price of Bitcoin dropped, so did the total number of employees in the industry which decreased by 11% in comparison to the 2021 all-time high of 211,000 people.

Amongst the countermeasures to the negative effects of the “crypto winter”, Binance cut down on salaries of managers and developers and refused additional compensation.

Nevertheless, the resilience of the Blockchain industry has allowed medium and large companies to survive.
