Polygon zkEVM, an Ethereum Layer 2 network launched a year ago this week, experienced a network outage that lasted for over ten hours.

According to the block explorer, there was a ten-hour outage on March 23 where no consecutive blocks were added to the chain.

The team behind Polygon zkEVM has acknowledged the issue and is working on resolving it, planning to share a detailed post-mortem.

Vitalik Buterin initiated the launch of Polygon zkEVM on March 27, 2023, with the first transaction. It is a zero-knowledge scaling rollup solution that is compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM).

Despite its similarity to other Layer 2 networks, Polygon zkEVM has not gained much traction and has seen significantly fewer transactions.
