SEC Chairman Gary Gensler has expressed concerns about the lack of important information available to investors about digital assets amidst the crackdown on crypto companies.

In an interview with CNBC, Gensler was asked about Wells’ notice to Robinhood’s crypto division, to which he replied that he could not discuss it publicly.

Gensler stated that many tokens are considered securities under the laws interpreted by the US Supreme Court. He emphasized that the Commission is committed to following the law and ensuring that investors have the necessary information about these assets.

Along with Robinhood, ConsenSys and Uniswap also received SEC notices in recent months. When asked about Ethereum specifically,

Gensler did not provide a direct answer on whether it is classified as a security or a commodity.
