Orbit Chain Hacker Transfers $48M Through Tornado Cash

In the last moments of 2023, Orbit Chain, a cross-chain bridge connected to the Klaytn ecosystem, was hacked and lost $81.5 million through multiple transactions.

The stolen funds remained untouched until Saturday, when the perpetrator started moving $48 million to Tornado Cash, a crypto mixing service on the Ethereum blockchain, according to Arkham Intelligence.

It is unclear why the hacker suddenly began moving the funds after months of dormancy.

Despite the exploit, Orbit Chain has resumed some bridging services and has announced that they are working with authorities to track the stolen assets and take necessary actions.
