Metaplanet Purchases Over 1,000 BTC

Asia’s largest corporate Bitcoin holder, Metaplanet, has continued its Bitcoin accumulation strategy with a recent purchase. This acquisition follows the Tokyo-based firm’s record-breaking first-quarter earnings report.

Metaplanet acquired Bitcoin at an average price of ¥15,134,304 ($104,180) each, purchasing 1,004 BTC worth approximately $104 million. This increases its total holdings to 7,800 BTC, currently valued at over $800 million.

Metaplanet’s aggressive strategy puts it ahead of El Salvador’s state-owned Bitcoin treasury, which holds 6,181 BTC.

This move aims to enhance shareholder value by leveraging Bitcoin as a key asset. Starting its buying spree in April 2024, Metaplanet is targeting a total of 10,000 BTC by the end of 2025.
