GameStop has officially joined the corporate Bitcoin club.

The video game retailer confirmed its first BTC purchase – a whopping 4,710 coins worth about $513 million – in a May 28 social media announcement.

While keeping purchase details close to the vest, this strategic play fulfills the company’s March promise to dive into Bitcoin investment.

GameStop had previously lined up its funding ducks with a $1.3 billion convertible notes offering, signaling this crypto play was more than just speculation.
