South Korea’s Financial Services Commission (FSC) is set to investigate transaction fees charged by domestic cryptocurrency exchanges, as part of efforts to reduce costs for traders, local media reported.

The regulator will examine fee structures on local trading platforms and consider potential intervention measures, according to a Thursday report by Herald Economy.

The move aligns with President Lee Jae-myung’s pro-crypto policies, including a campaign pledge to lower trading fees to support younger investors.

As part of the review, the FSC will survey exchanges on their fee systems, pricing models, and revenue from charges. The plan was announced during a policy briefing to the State Affairs Planning Committee, which is acting as the transition team for Lee’s administration.
