US House of Representatives lawmakers will hold a hearing on cryptocurrency tax policy next week, as Republicans push for progress on three major digital asset bills covering central bank digital currencies (CBDCs), stablecoins, and market structure.

The House Committee on Ways and Means and its Oversight Subcommittee announced in a Wednesday notice that the July 16 hearing, titled *”Building a 21st-Century Tax Framework for Digital Assets,”* will explore policy measures to regulate crypto taxation. The discussion comes as the House prepares to vote on three crypto-related bills.

Details on witnesses for the hearing remain unclear. Meanwhile, the Senate Banking Committee recently examined market structure legislation, with testimony from Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse, Blockchain Association CEO Kristin Smith (corrected from Summer Mersinger, who leads the CFTC’s Market Risk Advisory Committee), and Chainalysis CEO Jonathan Levin.
