In a stroke of luck and persistence, a solo Bitcoin miner defied the dominance of corporate mining giants to solve block 907,283—pocketing the full 3.125 BTC reward ($372,773).

The miner, using the Solo CK pool, validated 4,038 transactions and earned an additional $3,436 in fees.

With Bitcoin’s network difficulty at all-time highs, solo mining has become a high-risk, high-reward gamble. Yet, this marks the third solo success this year: another miner triumphed in February, and in early July, a lone operator mined a block with just 2.3 PH/s—a fraction of the power used by industrial farms.

While most blocks go to well-funded mining pools, these unlikely wins serve as a reminder that Bitcoin’s decentralized spirit still lives on—even in an era dominated by billion-dollar mining operations.
