An Indian anti-corruption court has sentenced 14 people—including 11 police officers and a former BJP politician—to life in prison for the 2018 kidnapping and crypto extortion of a businessman.

The victim was abducted after recovering lost Bitcoin investments, prompting a corrupt plot led by a former MLA and a high-ranking police superintendent.

All were convicted on charges including kidnapping, assault, and corruption.
