Four years after making Bitcoin legal tender, El Salvador is still buying the dip.

President Nayib Bukele marked the anniversary of the nation’s groundbreaking Bitcoin law by announcing a purchase of 21 BTC, a symbolic number in the crypto community worth roughly $2.3 million.

This latest acquisition boosts the country’s total stash to 6,313 Bitcoin.

The celebratory purchase comes amid a flurry of crypto activity from the Central American nation, which recently passed a law enabling financial institutions to offer Bitcoin services and took advanced security steps to protect its holdings against future quantum threats.

This activity continues despite previous assurances to the IMF that public Bitcoin buying had stopped.
