Metaplanet’s Bitcoin Bet Soars with New $620M Purchase

Metaplanet is doubling down on its Bitcoin-centric strategy with another colossal purchase. The Tokyo-based firm has acquired an additional 5,268 BTC for $623 million, bringing its total stash to 30,823 BTC.

This latest move secures its rank as the fourth-largest corporate Bitcoin holder globally, a clear signal of its full-throttled pivot away from traditional assets.

The purchase follows a record-breaking buy in September and is backed by robust operational results.

The company recently reported a 115.7% surge in Q3 revenue, which CEO Simon Gerovich stated “strengthens the financial foundation” for their Bitcoin treasury strategy, including a planned preferred share issuance designed to fund further crypto acquisitions.
