BlackRock Advances Plans for Staked Ethereum ETF with New Delaware Filing

Asset management giant BlackRock has taken a key step toward launching a staked Ethereum ETF, registering the name “iShares Staked Ethereum Trust” in Delaware.
This move, handled by the same agent who filed BlackRock’s initial Ethereum ETF, is a standard early signal of a new fund. The filing follows a July proposal from Nasdaq to add staking capabilities to BlackRock’s existing $11.5 billion iShares Ethereum Trust (ETHA).
While the current regulatory environment is more favorable for crypto ETPs, the SEC has yet to approve many funds that offer staking rewards. Bloomberg analyst Eric Balchunas anticipates the formal filing is “coming soon.”
