FTX.US to Offer Crypto Derivatives Trading
FTX.US, a US subsidiary of crypto exchange FTX, has just announced it plans to offer cryptocurrency derivatives trading in less than a year.
To that end, the company has two possible options. On the one hand, it can launch its own service, for which it would need to obtain a license. On the other, it also has the possibility of acquiring another company that already has the corresponding license.
The company currently offers a limited range of services compared to FTX.
Brett Harrison, president of FTX.US, has said:
“We definitely hope to be able to offer them inside of a year. Quite frankly, we could have or should have started a long time ago, but we’re definitely interested in going through the process and collaborating with the [Commodity Futures Trading Commission] to be able to offer those products in the US.”
The CFTC is the agency that regulates derivatives in the US.
