The team of developers of the meme cryptocurrency Dogecoin have just announced the resumption of activities of the Dogecoin Foundation, aimed at the development of the cryptocurrency meme ecosystem.

Although the foundation was created in 2014, it ceased to operate.

According to the announcement, the Dogecoin Foundation’s advisors include Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin, Jared Birchall, who has long been associated with Elon Musk and is a director of his family office, Dogecoin co-founder Billy Markus and developer Max Keller.

Some of the organization’s goals are to accelerate the development of Dogecoin by hiring new employees on a permanent basis, continue to protect the Dogecoin brand and logo as well as introduce new projects for the cryptocurrency ecosystem.

The Dogecoin Foundation is resuming its work on a voluntary basis, however, in the future it expects to receive funding for the team and the development group through permanent sponsors.
