BuzzFeed journalist Katie Notopoulos has revealed the identities of two of the four co-founders of the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) NFT collection under the pseudonyms Gordon Goner and Gargamel.

According to her, in real life they were natives of Florida – 32-year-old Greg Solano and 35-year-old Wylie Aronow.

The journalist studied publicly available information about the Yuga Labs company behind the collection. It turned out that the company was registered at an address associated with Solano, other entries led to Aronow.

Yuga Labs CEO Nicole Muniz has confirmed the information.

Both co-founders of BAYC called the incident doxing – the disclosure of personal information online without their consent. Solano reacted with the phrase: “Well.”

Both have compared the Web 2.0 world to the Web 3.0 space, where you can keep your privacy behind a pseudonym.
