The Wormhole project team has paid $10 million to a white hat hacker who has discovered a critical vulnerability in the cross-chain protocol, the Immunefi platform, which is responsible for the bounty program, has reported.

According to the press release shared by Immunefi, last February 24, a hacker under the pseudonym satya0x discovered a vulnerability in the Wormhole core bridge contract on Ethereum. The exploit could potentially lead to the blocking of user funds.

According to the release:

“The Wormhole team was incredibly quick to respond to the report, investigating and fixing the issue the same day it was reported. No user funds were lost.”

For the bug discovered, satya0x received the maximum reward allowed in the Wormhole bounty program: $10 million.
