Uranium Finance Hacker Sends $3.3M to Tornado Cash

On March 7, the address associated with the Uranium Finance hack that had been inactive for 647 days suddenly moved 2,250 ETH or $3.35 million to cryptocurrency mixer Tornado Cash.

The hacker made several transactions of 1 to 100 ETH. This wallet was one of many involved in the April 2021 hack of the protocol, which caused losses of $50 million.

In February 2023, the total damage from DeFi hacks amounted to $21 million, with the largest being the Platypus Finance protocol hack of $8.5 million.

Another major DeFi hack was the LaunchZone protocol where the hacker managed to withdraw $700,000, resulting in the token’s value depreciating by 82%.
