After months of negotiations, Wakweli, an infrastructure protocol for Web3 that issues certificates of authenticity for non-fungible tokens (NFTs), has partnered with layer-2 scaling platform Polygon to make NFT authentication possible.

This collaboration seeks to enhance the security of the digital ecosystem. To request an authenticity certificate for each asset, users must stake WAKU, Wakweli’s utility token.

The amount required to stake in a request will depend on the level of trust needed for each case. The negotiations between the two companies began in August 2022 and were finalized this March.
