Clarity Act Scheduled for Senate Committee Markup Next Week
The Digital Asset Market Clarity Act is poised for a critical legislative step. US Senator Tim Scott has confirmed the bill will undergo a markup in the Senate committee next week, advancing the process to provide regulatory clarity for the crypto industry.
“Next Thursday, we’ll have a vote on market structure,” Scott stated in a Tuesday interview with Breitbart News. He emphasized the significance of the upcoming procedure, adding, “It’s important for us to get on the record and vote.”
Senator Scott highlighted the extensive preparation behind the bill. “We have worked tirelessly for the last six plus months making sure that we had multiple drafts available to every member of the committee,” he said.
This confirmation aligns with earlier indications from White House AI and crypto czar David Sacks, who noted in December that the comprehensive market structure bill was slated for a January markup. The legislation previously passed the House of Representatives in July 2025.
Should the Senate approve the bill in its current form, it would not require another House vote and would move directly to US President Donald Trump for his signature.
