Animoca Brands has obtained a Virtual Asset Service Provider license from Dubai’s Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority, marking a significant regulatory win that will allow the Web3 investor to scale its operations across the Middle East. The license unlocks new capabilities for the firm within a rapidly evolving regional hub for digital assets.

The approval, announced on Monday, authorizes the Hong Kong-founded company to provide broker-dealer services and investment management related to virtual assets in and from Dubai, with the exception of the Dubai International Financial Centre.

These services are primarily tailored for institutional and qualified investors on a global scale, enabling Animoca to deepen its engagement with professional capital in the region.

“This licence enhances our ability to engage with Web3 foundations as well as global institutional and qualified investors within a well-regulated framework,” said Omar Elassar, managing director for the Middle East and head of global strategic partnerships at Animoca Brands.

The statement underscores the company’s focus on leveraging Dubai’s regulatory clarity to attract institutional participation.
