Retail investors now have a new path to early-stage cryptocurrency projects. Coinbase Global has announced a platform that will allow individuals to purchase digital tokens before they are publicly listed.

The move, which sent the company’s stock up 4%, is designed to democratize access to token sales that were previously difficult for the average person to join.

Investors will have a one-week window to submit purchase requests for curated monthly token sales, with allocations determined by a fair algorithm.
