ETH Developer: London Upgrade to Take Place on August 4
Tim Beiko, a leading developer of the second largest crypto on the market, yesterday proposed August 4 as the date for the London upgrade of the Ethereum mainnet.
If it occurs on this date, the ETH mainnet upgrade will occur at block 12,965,000.
However, it should be noted August 4 is just a proposal, as the final decision will not be made until the ETH mainnet developers meeting, which is scheduled for next July 9.
It should be noted the London upgrade comes after the Berlin upgrade, which was released last April.
One of new features the upgrade will bring to the Ethereum mainnet is the delay of the crypto mining difficulty bomb until December. This difficulty bomb is a measure intended to make mining the cryptocurrency significantly more difficult.
