Former US President Donald Trump, who is currently facing criminal charges in four jurisdictions, has announced that his upcoming campaign for the 2024 presidential election will accept cryptocurrency donations.

In a recent notice, the Trump 2024 campaign stated that they have launched a fundraising page where eligible individuals can use the Coinbase Commerce product to donate in crypto.

The website features logos for top cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Ether, Dogecoin, and others.

The announcement also referenced Senator Elizabeth Warren’s negative stance on cryptocurrencies, claiming that she is acting as President Joe Biden’s “official surrogate” in Congress.

During a dinner event on May 8, Trump assured attendees who purchased a non-fungible token featuring his mugshot that they would be able to make donations to his campaign in cryptocurrency.

With the election less than six months away, Trump is expected to be the Republican Party’s nominee for President in 2024. He is likely to face off against Biden, who is the presumptive Democratic Party nominee.
