Institutional crypto custody provider Anchorage Digital is bringing DeFi capabilities to its clients through a Uniswap integration in its Porto wallet.

This allows regulated entities—such as hedge funds, asset managers, and banks—to engage in decentralized trading while maintaining compliance.

Nathan McCauley, Anchorage’s CEO, emphasized that the solution enables institutions to move at “crypto-native speed” without compromising security. The integration targets firms like Maple Finance and the Sui Foundation, which already use Porto.

The institutional DeFi sector is growing, blending DeFi’s transparency with traditional finance’s risk management frameworks. Uniswap, with $4.57B in TVL, serves as a key liquidity provider.

Anchorage, backed by a16z and Apollo, has partnered with BlackRock for custody services.
