Republican senator calls for probe into Trump and Biden sons

Republican Senator John Curtis has called for a Senate investigation into the business dealings of Donald Trump Jr. and Hunter Biden, citing concerns over the use of presidential family connections for private financial benefit.

In a letter to Senate Judiciary Committee Chair Chuck Grassley and ranking member Dick Durbin, Curtis asked the panel to examine whether family relationships had been used to obtain financial benefits, preferential treatment or access to domestic and foreign interests. He also called for subpoenas for both Trump Jr. and Hunter Biden.

Curtis specifically pointed to Trump Jr.’s promotion of family-backed cryptocurrency ventures and his financial and advisory ties to prediction market platforms. He also raised questions over a wedding gift from Russian businessman Umar Kremlev, which Trump Jr. and his wife have described as a gift that was repaid.

The senator also cited Hunter Biden’s past business dealings and foreign relationships. Curtis said the same standards should apply to the families of presidents from both parties and called for the committee to establish whether existing ethics, disclosure or anti-corruption laws apply.
