Standard Chartered has launched institutional custody for Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin on the XRP Ledger through its Dubai branch, regulated by the Dubai Financial Services Authority.
The bank is also working with Ripple and LMAX Group to make RLUSD eligible as collateral for certain LMAX products. Under the proposed arrangement, collateral values could be mirrored to LMAX without transferring the underlying assets to the trading venue.
The integration remains subject to documentation, testing, regulatory requirements and internal approvals. No launch date has been announced.
