Tanzania’s President Wants the Country to Get Ready for Cryptocurrencies
Samia Suluhu Hassan, the president of Tanzania, has urged the authorities of the country to prepare for the adoption of Bitcoin and other digital assets, according to local publication Cityam.
Hassan has urged the country’s central bank to study digital assets due to their increasing impact on global finance. According to her, “we have witnessed the emergence of a new journey through the Internet.”
She has regretted that Tanzania as well as the whole region seem to be neglecting crypto adoption and development:
“Throughout the region, including Tanzania, they have not accepted or started using these routes.”
The president of the country has urged the central bank to start studying digital assets so that it is ready for the upcoming changes they will bring.
These statements come following El Salvador‘s adoption of Bitcoin as legal tender.
