Cryptocurrency exchanges Kuna, WhiteBIT and CEX.io have introduced restrictions for users from Russia due to the war in Ukraine.

Michael Chobanian, founder of Kuna, has turned off all ruble pairs and closed the deposit and withdrawal of the ruble. He has apologized to customers and explained it has been a “tough decision.”

He has emphasized the restrictions apply exclusively to transactions with the ruble. Clients from Russia still can withdraw crypto to third-party addresses without any problems.

For its part, WhiteBIT has reported that the platform had suspended the registration of new users from Russia “due to the implementation of new verification procedures for sanctions lists.” According to the exchange, the team has already checked “most” of the accounts and found no violations.

All the assets of Russian and Belarusian users have also been blocked by QMALL. The CEX.io platform has suspended the registration of users from Russia, Belarus and Ukraine, as well as “all deposit and trading activities” of clients from these regions.
