The International Football Federation (FIFA) has recently announced crypto exchange Crypto.com will become the official sponsor of the World Cup, which will be held in Qatar.

According to the press release:

“The company will be the exclusive cryptocurrency marketplace sponsor of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and will benefit from brand promotion both inside and outside the stadiums of the tournament.”

The final part of the World Cup will be held in the Arab country from November 21 to December 18, 2022.

The FIFA chief commercial officer Kay Madati has said on the announcement:

“Crypto.com has already demonstrated a commitment to supporting top-tier teams and leagues, major events and iconic arenas around the world, and there is no venue larger or with greater reach and cultural impact than the global football platform.”

Crypto.com became in June last year a partner of the Formula 1 racing series, and in July it entered into an agreement with the mixed martial arts league UFC.
