Chip maker Intel has recently announced the release of a new chip designed for Bitcoin mining. According to the company, it will be released in the third quarter of 2022 and will be called the Intel Blockscale ASIC.

Each Blockscale ASIC chip will provide hash rates up to 580 GH/s with an energy efficiency of 26 J/TH. Special mention must be made to the fact that the main qualities of the chip are declared stability and energy efficiency.

Considering these figures, a mining system made up of 256 Intel Blockscale ASIC chips would output about 148 TH/s and with an energy consumption of about 3,860 watts. The air-cooled mining system of Bitmain outputs 140 TH/s with an energy consumption of 3010 W, resulting in 21.5 J/TH of power efficiency.
