Chainalysis: There Will Be a Price Divergence Between Ethereum and Bitcoin After The Merge
According to a study published by Chainalysis, the price of Ethereum may show a post-merger independent of other digital assets, as staking will make the second largest cryptocurrency by capitalization look like bonds or commodities.
The upcoming event, which will happen on September 15-16, will lead to an active growth of interest from institutional investors. They will be attracted by the expected yield of 10-15% per annum. The indicator will exceed the return on financial instruments such as bonds and commodities.
According to the company experts, the number of Ethereum institutional investors is “growing steadily” from less than 200 in January 2021 to about 1,100 by August 2022.
The rise in the indicator after The Merge at a faster pace will confirm the hypothesis that institutional “really considers staking the second largest cryptocurrency by capitalization as a good profit strategy.”
