Apple has ordered application developers to exclude the use of NFTs, which do not provide for the possibility of charging transaction fees (up to 30%).

The restrictions are reflected in an update to Apple’s policy.

The ban has affected non-fungible tokens, including in the form of “buttons, external links or other calls to action that direct customers to purchase mechanisms other than the one implemented in the application.”

According to the update, apps can “sell NFT-related services” such as issuance, listing and transfer. But the use of non-fungible tokens to unlock “extra features” is prohibited.

In fact, Apple’s policy means users are strongly discouraged from doing anything more than using apps like OpenSea and Magic Eden to view NFTs.
