A Canadian resident has recently filed a lawsuit against former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried, former head of Alameda Research Caroline Ellison, and the NBA’s Golden State Warriors alleging false advertising.

The lawsuit was filed in the Southern District of San Francisco and is based on the state laws that prohibit false information in advertising.

For this reason, the Miami Heat and the Washington Capitals, with whom the failed company also cooperated, do not appear as defendants.

According to the document, crypto exchange FTX launched ads featuring a range of professional teams and sports venues that presented the platform and its profitable accounts as a “safe investment.”
