A CryptoPunk NFT is Sold for $16M

On March 4, Cryptopunk #3100, one of only nine “alien punks,” sold for 4,500 ETH (~$16.03 million). This sale is the second-highest valued transaction in both dollars and ether in the history of the NFT collection, according to the CryptoPunks platform.

The seller outbid the previous offer of 4,250 ETH (~$14.56 million) that was placed on March 1st. As a result, CryptoPunk #3100 moved up from third to second place in value on the marketplace.

Last week, CryptoPunk generated a total of $8.25 million in sales. It is worth noting that in 2023, the minimum price for leading collections such as Bored Ape Yacht Club and CryptoPunk decreased by 57.6% and 13.8%, respectively.

In February 2024, a rare non-fungible token #1726 from the BAYC collection was sold for 275 ETH (~$688,000 at the time of the transaction).
