TON Blockchain Suffers an Outage
The Open Network (TON) has been experiencing a disruption in operations, with no transactions being processed for a period of six hours.
Tonscan has reported that the blockchain, affiliated with Telegram, stopped creating new blocks since 10:11 p.m. UTC on Tuesday.
In light of this extended halt, both Binance and Bybit temporarily suspended deposits and withdrawals to and from the TON network.
According to an X post, TON has confirmed the block production issue and attributed it to the current high workload on the network. This has caused some validators to be unable to clear the database of old transactions, leading to a loss of consensus.
The TON team has urged validators to restart at 4 a.m. UTC on Wednesday in hopes of reestablishing consensus.
The creation of new blocks has now been resumed.
