Ripple co-founder Chris Larsen has contributed $1 million in cryptocurrency to a political action committee that supports Vice President Kamala Harris.

This donation was made on August 14 and was reported in Federal Election Commission filings.

The funds were transferred through a “non-contribution account; in-kind: XRP not liquidated” and were received by Future Forward PAC, which accepts cryptocurrency donations on behalf of Harris’ presidential campaign.

Future Forward PAC works with Coinbase Commerce, a platform that converts chosen currency into stablecoin USDC to reduce volatility.

This is reportedly the first crypto donation received by Harris.

The PAC has raised over $200 million so far, with donations from notable figures such as Michael Bloomberg, Reid Hoffman, and Coinbase. Initially supporting President Joe Biden’s reelection campaign, the PAC is now focused on supporting Harris’ campaign after Biden exited from the race.
