Crypto.com has made headlines by declaring that it will be one of the first platforms to remove Tether’s USDt and nine other tokens in Europe in accordance with the newly implemented Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) framework.

The exchange’s spokesperson has confirmed that they will cease purchases of Tether USDt and the other affected tokens on January 31, in compliance with MiCA regulations.

While deposits will be suspended, the exchange has assured its users that withdrawals for the affected tokens will still be supported until the first quarter of 2025.

The complete delisting of these tokens is scheduled for March 31. Any users who still hold these tokens after the first quarter deadline will have the option to convert them to MiCA-compliant assets, otherwise, they will be automatically converted to a compliant stablecoin or asset of corresponding market value.
