Coinbase to Launch Securitized Tokens in US
Coinbase plans to introduce securitized tokens in the US market, a move that could revolutionize the trading of traditional assets on blockchain platforms.
This initiative comes as President Donald Trump’s administration shows a more favorable attitude towards cryptocurrency, highlighted by several dismissals within the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), including its lawsuit against Coinbase.
With the SEC’s crypto team now established, Coinbase sees a renewed opportunity to offer tokenized securities to American investors—a vision it attempted, but was unable to realize, about five years ago.
In its initial S1 filing, Coinbase mentioned its intention to create its own security token, a topic addressed by the company’s Chief Financial Officer, Alesia Haas, during her presentation at Morgan Stanley’s TMT Conference.
