Kraken Secures Dealer License in Canada

Kraken has appointed Cynthia Del Pozo as the head of its Canadian operations and secured a restricted dealer license in Canada.

Del Pozo will oversee Kraken’s growth in Canada, strengthening regulatory, political, and commercial relationships as the San Francisco-based company expands across North America. She succeeds Alex Mehrdad, who served for just over a year after replacing Mark Greenberg.

Kraken announced enhancements in governance, security, and compliance to meet top industry standards.

According to LinkedIn, Mehrdad left Kraken last month. A Kraken spokesperson informed BetaKit that Mehrdad played a crucial role in securing the license and left to pursue opportunities more aligned with his career focus. The spokesperson added that Mehrdad “will always remain a Krakenite at heart.”
