The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has concluded its investigation into PayPal’s PYUSD stablecoin without pursuing any enforcement actions, according to a recent filing.
This development represents another significant win for the crypto industry, following recent legal victories.
In an April 29 filing, PayPal disclosed that the SEC decided to close its case against the US dollar-backed stablecoin, PYUSD, earlier this year. PayPal had received a subpoena from the SEC’s Division of Enforcement regarding its stablecoin in November 2023.
In February 2025, the SEC informed PayPal of its decision to conclude the investigation without enforcement action.
