Metaplanet has purchased approximately $53.4 million worth of Bitcoin.

In a recent disclosure on Wednesday, the Japanese investment firm announced acquiring 555 BTC at an average price of $96,134 per Bitcoin. CEO Simon Gerovich shared on social media that the company now holds 5,555 BTC, acquired for $481.5 million at an average price of $86,672 per Bitcoin.

“In Japanese, the number 5 is pronounced ‘Go,’ so today we’re shouting: Go go go go — to the moon and beyond!” Gerovich exclaimed.

Metaplanet has been steadily increasing its Bitcoin holdings since launching its crypto strategy in April 2024. Aiming to reach 10,000 BTC by the end of 2025, they achieved half their goal last month.

Additionally, the firm issued another $25 million in ordinary bonds for more Bitcoin purchases, marking its 13th bond series just a week after the 12th.
