Romania’s National Postal Service Launches First Bitcoin ATM
Poșta Română, Romania’s state-owned postal service, has installed its first Bitcoin ATM at a branch in Tulcea, in collaboration with cryptocurrency exchange Bitcoin Romania (BTR).
The postal service announced that additional Bitcoin ATMs will soon be deployed in Alexandria, Piatra Neamț, Botoșani, and Nădlac as part of a broader initiative to modernize infrastructure and expand financial services in underserved regions.
The installation of Bitcoin ATMs in post offices highlights the increasing acceptance of cryptocurrencies by governments and public institutions, reflecting rising demand for digital assets.
Bitcoin adoption continues to grow globally, driven by individual investors, businesses accepting BTC as payment, corporations holding it as a treasury asset, and even nation-states adding it to strategic reserves.
